He is a Review Expert of the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, a Young and Middle-aged Academic Leader in Universities of Zhejiang Province, and a Visiting Scholar at Shih Hsin University (Taiwan, China) and the University of Iceland.
He has presided over 16 projects, including the Youth Fund of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, General Grant of China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Post-funding of Zhejiang Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Planning, Industry-University Cooperation Collaborative Education Project of the Ministry of Education, Construction of Excellent Graduate Courses in Zhejiang Province, and Recognition of Excellent Graduate Teaching Cases in Zhejiang Province.
He has published two academic monographs: A Study on the Characteristics of John Corigliano's Composition Techniques (China Social Sciences Press, 2018) and Melodies in Film and Sound: A Study on the Structural Force Characteristics of Chinese Film Music Composition in the New Era (Southwest University Normal Press, 2018). He has also published more than 30 academic papers and works in international authoritative journals (e.g., A&HCI) and CSSCI core journals.
As a composer, he has created over 40 musical works across genres such as symphonies, orchestral music, chamber music, and choruses. His works have repeatedly won (or been selected for) national, provincial, and municipal creation awards, as well as excellent achievement awards in philosophy and social sciences.
In student guidance:
He supervised Li Xinyue (professional master's student in composition) to win the Excellent Degree Thesis of Ningbo University and the "Zhuochuang Degree Thesis" for graduates.
He guided Wu Zhidong (academic master's student in composition technique theory) to obtain the Excellent Degree Thesis of Ningbo University.
He instructed undergraduate Ding Chen to publish high-level academic papers and win the second prize of the "Jiang Xinghao Student Scientific Research Achievement Award" at Ningbo University.
His graduate and undergraduate students’ works/papers have been selected for national events like the National Academic Symposium on Theoretical Composition in Colleges and Universities and the National Academic Forum on Opera Studies.
He guided undergraduates to secure project approvals for the Zhejiang Provincial College Students' Science and Technology Innovation Activity & New Seed Talent Program six consecutive times.
He has helped undergraduates win the Excellent Graduation Thesis of Ningbo University five times.
In teaching, he has received honors including the "Xu Wangyue Special Award for Teaching and Research" of Ningbo University, the "Gengyun Teaching Award" from the Sincere Teaching Fund, University-level Excellent Thesis Supervisor, and University-level Excellent Class Teacher.
